Coach Clinic- Feb. 25th- Open to Everyone

The Doyle Academy will be holding a Coaches' Certification Program on February 25th at West Raleigh.

The program is mandatory for Spring 2012 West Raleigh head coaches, highly recommended for assistant coaches, but open to anyone wishing to participate. There is a $20 fee. Please see Program Flyer in download section to the right.

Saturday 3/3 Pitching Clinic, 6:30-9:30pm: Effective Velocity

Serious Pitchers and Coaches

Perry Husband will share his ground breaking research on the science of pitching. His discovery, Effective Velocity, is being used at all levels of Professional Baseball and several colleges around the country. If you want to learn the key to being more effective every time you step on the mound, you must attend.

Players $49; after 2/26 - $69

Saturday 3/3 Hitting Clinic, 8:30am-12:00pm: Swing Efficiency

Ages 9+ and Coaches

Perry Husband will be leading the clinic. You will learn and practice the proper movements that generate more power and consistency in your swing. Coaches will learn how to teach these skills to their players. Each player will be measured for tee exit speed and evaluated on video.

Players $79; after 2/26 - $99

Saturday 3/3 Hitting Clinic, 1:30pm-5:00pm: Pitch Recognition and Timing

Intermediate to Advanced Hitters and Coaches

Because of Perry's unique background and understanding of timing from the pitcher's side of the battle, he has developed methods for improving your ability to be on-time to the pitch. If you are on-time with an efficient swing, you will hit the bat hard more often resulting in more quality at-bats. This will translate into a higher average and more power.

2012 Spring Calendar and Game Schedule

In an effort to help families plan ahead, West Raleigh has posted the 2012 Spring Main Calendar (in the download section to the right) and we have uploaded the game schedule for all teams. Some dates and times could be subject to change at the discretion of the Baseball Committee and Mother Nature.

Game Schedule- please note that this year traditional school Spring Break takes place the week following Opening Day; while there are no games on Easter weekend, all teams have games during the other days of Spring Break (which has always occurred).
